This website is dedicated to the 2008-2009 racing pigeon season

  We have returned to pigeon racing around 18months ago after 25yrs out of the sport and this will be our first real season since our return as we are kind of organized this year. Our racing partner Mr William Sanderson sadly passed away from the dreaded cancer at the end of last season he will be sadly missed.

In our lofts we house Pure Janssens , some Janssen crosses some Karl Meulemans a few long distance pigeons from The Albert and Michel Willems entire clearance sale 18 months or so ago,  this includes a double grandson to Champion Gerda who won 1st Barcelona in 1996 for Jos Thone and Albert Willems his partner  and was subsequently sold for $120,000 I also have a Direct Marc Pollin pigeon she is a daughter of his champion "Montauban".

Add to that a Son of Gaby Vandenabeeles Champion James Bond I call him "Commander Bond" as he is so aggressive and bossy and "The Violet Eye" a grandaughter of The Wittenbuik direct from Gaby and a new family of pigeons i have brought in  Roland Janssens some direct from Roland himself and some from Louella lofts as they now own a lot of Rolands top pigeons.We also have 12 new YB arrivals red and mealys from Marcel Van Ostaeyen of Antwerp they are nice looking pigeons mostly the Meulemans strain they have already been in and out of the loft a few times. We topped the Fed with one of Marcels YBs last season and he trapped slowly he was way out in front of 500 club birds and nearly 3,000 federation pigeons.

The young birds we purchased for 2008 racing season from Marcel Van Ostaeyen flew fantastic. we purchased 12 ybs and 8 made it to the first race. They were from his family of red Karel Meulemans and are mostly choc reds, by the end of the season we had 6 left and they all won a prize or landed with team mates that did via ETS timing.

2009 season

Well this season I am in Canada and cannot race the birds myself, I was going to try out my family of Roland Janssens Whites and Grizzles this year, so my friends Peter Fish and Raymond Booth, Richard Howarth and Anne and Steve Nicholls are going to fly ybs from my stock birds for me. Between them they have all my best pigeons and are doing me a huge favour, i hope the birds reward them.

David Morrison has my two long distance breeders from The dreamboy and Gerda family and he is going to race the offspring from them for me too.

I will post the results for the 2009 youngbird racing when it begins.

My good friend Ken Cardwell who races in the Blackpool Colombarian club is having another fantastic season, he won the car a few years ago in the Europa Classic one loft race http://www.europaclassic.co.uk/ and since then Kenny has gone from strength to strength he is in my opinion the best flyer at all distances in the very competetive West Coast federation for young and old pigeons.

Ken Cardwell  has his own family of Van Reet birds  mainly based around the parents from his car winner and on racedays it is an amazing sight watching his pigeons arrive thick and fast and trap like bulletts, Anyone who was starting out with pigeons or whom wants to strengthen thier existing stock could do no better than Give Ken Cardwell  a ring to arrange  a visit, a more honest man you will never find and his pigeons do the business with the minimum of good management. you can contact him on (01253) 398811
