This website is dedicated to the 2008 racing pigeon season

  We have returned to pigeon racing around 18months ago after 25yrs out of the sport and this will be our first real season since our return as we are kind of organized this year. Our racing partner Mr William Sanderson sadly passed away from the dreaded cancer at the end of last season he will be sadly missed.

In our lofts we house Pure Janssens , some Janssen crosses some Karl Meulemans a few long distance pigeons from The Albert and Michel Willems entire clearance sale 18 months or so ago,  this includes a double grandson to Champion Gerda who won 1st Barcelona in 1996 for Jos Thone and Albert Willems his partner  and was subsequently sold for $120,000 I also have a Direct Marc Pollin pigeon she is a daughter of his champion "Montauban".

Add to that a Son of Gaby Vandenabeeles Champion James Bond I call him "Commander Bond" as he is so aggressive and bossy and "The Violet Eye" a grandaughter of The Wittenbuik direct from Gaby and a new family of pigeons i have brought in  Roland Janssens some direct from Roland himself and some from Louella lofts as they now own a lot of Rolands top pigeons.We also have 12 new YB arrivals red and mealys from Marcel Van Ostaeyen of Antwerp they are nice looking pigeons mostly the Meulemans strain they have already been in and out of the loft a few times. We topped the Fed with one of Marcels YBs last season and he trapped slowly he was way out in front of 500 club birds and nearly 3,000 federation pigeons.

Its only Jan 28th 2008 and the breeding season is well on its way we have around 24 youngsters fledged or will be in 4 days  so we need a break in this awful weather , driving rain and high winds every day (you cant believe it but no doubt we will get a fortnights sun in summer and then there will be a hosepipe ban).

All the youngsters look superb and its hard to pick favourites and usually foolish because as soon as you like one more than another you lose it but, the Roland Janssen youngsters look amazing, the muscle tone and feathering have to be seen to be believed if they fly as well as they look we will have a great youngbird season.

Its now 14th March 2008 and we have had a torrid time with the young pigeons lost off the roof one reported in Preston another in Liverpool one more found with a broken wing another with a broken leg. the remaining twenty from the first round are hopefully stayed now and are through the moult the second round are soon to join them.

We are a bit behind with the preparation of our old birds for racing this year, its going to be around the third race before the birds are right but we shouldnt be too far behind this weekend coming 12th April from Penkridge 70 odd miles.Our friend and racing opponent Kenny Cardwell took 1st, 2nd and third in the Blackpool Colombarian club from Nantwich 5th April  around 60 miles he should have all 3 on the Fed result sheet, it was a super performance as he had five cocks on widowhood drop together and he timed just the 3 birds in.

This Pigeon is just one of the many Roland Janssen pigeons I have he is a Grandson to "Thundercloud" owned by Louella Lofts

We are racing in two clubs this year The Marton Village and the Blackpool Colombarian there are some top fliers in both clubs Roy and Mark Acton and Les Barrow and young bird specialists Terry Eaves and Frank Fleming in the village to name but 3 and in the Colombarian Mick Barlow and this year Kenny Cardwell rejoining the club, both these fanciers have won a car in the Europa one loft race in the last 3 years. Mr Bert Hession is still a member he bred us a couple of pigeons from his very best Toyboy Line the birds are unrung but with pedigrees, he no longer races but he does the clocks on the clock commitee.
